How it works?

Entering is simple:

Have an idea(s)
Develop your own, select one of the LazyWeb Ideas that we've published on our Cookbook, or get inspired by what others have done by looking at our Showcase.

Build your idea(s).
Build an application that uses the Daylife API. No limits here: mashups, portals, widgets, iphone apps, blogging plugins, you name it. Multiple entries are fine, too!

Post your work(s)
Share what you've done as a recipe on the Daylife Cookbook. describing what you've done and containing a URL where folks can go and see what you've made.

Wait for the Judging
Our judges will pick out the best entries based on interestingness, originality, and innovative use of the DayPI.

 
 
A few final details

  • If you've not yet done so, sign up for a Daylife developer account. That will get you keys to the DayPI
  • Get familiar with the documentation, and review the recipes we've already written.
  • Enter your work as a page in the cookbook. Describe what you've done and tag it with 'contest08' when you are ready to make your entry live.

    If your application is a mashup of Yahoo's BOSS API and the DayPI, make sure you also tag your entry with 'boss' to be eligible for the $2000 Yahoo! BOSS Bonus prize.

  • Ask questions and share your knowledge about the DayPI with other developers on the forums. If you have questions about the contest, ask them on the DayPI Developer Challenge Forum .
  • Update your recipe as you build your app. We'll accept entries until 11:59PM, Eastern Daylight Time on July 25th, 2008. Ensure your contest entry is tagged with 'contest08'.
  • Wait for the results.
